Behind The Scenes – Issue #1

April 25th, 2009 . by One

It is apparent to us all that these media projects (the previous Salcasts) have lately been taking much longer than usual. We think it best to inform you in a basic way, that we are working very hard to get the latest episode released as soon as is possible. Much different to before, the SalCast is now working in a slightly different manner. When we say different, we literally mean that organization of how we work has been and is now and forever, completely changed.

These behind the scenes entries will hopefully end up coming out every week with the latest Salcast updates. We feel it’s better to communicate with the forumers more and give you more of an insight on what’s going on in the “secret” forums for the Salcast team. At the end of the day (this is as much your podcast as it is ours!) we will most likely be giving you updates on content, new arising problems and things we are generally doing to release the cast. So, if we aren’t quite on schedule, you will know about it!

Something is always going to go slightly wrong and we have noticed a lack of content produced by our teams towards the Runescape side of things. This knowledge brings us back to our organization. With this said, applications are back and available!

The latest episode is running very smoothly, and actually is very close to completion already! But this ties into what we were speaking of earlier. Organization has changed and now we present RuneCast, imagine an ‘a’ and a ‘b’ side to a CD. That is all we shall give you, the rest is up to the release.

From now on, you will notice that the cast is starting to branch out a little more with the next episode. It’s going beyond the normal and adding new, refreshing content. Some of you won’t quite enjoy it until much further down the line. Perhaps this is something that is going to get better with further interest into the cast. Imagine, no major boundaries on content, aside from the regular inappropriate material rules. The upcoming Salcasts will be much more relaxed; just writers and hosts using their knowledge of certain genres!

Last but certainly not least, we have the SalCast Voice Talent competition! It seems to be working out quite well, we are all very impressed by what marvelous talent we have heard from all of you. So remember, entries have to be in by the 1st of May! Good luck to others who are considering the competition!

That’s it for this Behind the Scenes, we’ll see you again soon! Oh, one more quick note, if you have anything you would like to know about or think we should address, don’t be afraid to send a personal message to Fatalysm, you could see new information posted just from your own questions etc!

Voice Talent Competition

April 13th, 2009 . by One

Ah, we all knew this competition would come back to haunt us all. A long time after Master Neverdead’s attempt to do a singing contest, it is revived but this time we think it might just work. Here is the idea of SalCast Idol! We want a recording of you perhaps singing or giving us things you can do with your voice like impressions or funky sound, by this we mean it can be as fun as you want it be. If your singing try to keep any music down low! We want your voice!

Here are some ground rules:

  • You have to enter a music file such as (.AIF, MP3…).
  • Make sure it is definitely your voice, we don’t want to have another artists work!
  • Keep everything to a level suitable for 13+.
  • You can only enter one valid piece. You can change your entry as much as you want but the final one you send is the one being voted for.
  • If you have the ability to edit your voice, like if you want to add an echo that is fine but don’t edit beyond recognition!

Everyone will be allowed to enter, even the SalCast staff (they need their fun too!).

All entries must be put into the submissions forum here, we would like all entries in by the 1st of May 2009. It doesn’t matter how good you are, this contest is for complete fun! It is always the effort that counts, and remember you could be completely off-key with singing or your impression might be terrible but your confidence could win you the competition. So, now your wondering, just why would i want to enter this ghastly competition when all i could meet is humiliation?

Well, obviously no competition is a competition without some sort of a prize. You will get a chance to record a theme tune for the SalCast! And your song will be played in full on the SalCast! As well as this you might be considered to become a host for the SalCast and of course if that is an interest to you then we will be in touch!

I’ve got an example here of something we would like to possibly see:

Now your probably wondering, just how am i supposed to enter your file to the SalCast? Well, you can either personal message it to myself using a file uploader such as Rapidshare or MegaUpload or enter it via the Submissions forum. Good luck with your entries!
